MEMBERSHIP
The National Apostolate for Inclusion Ministry is a membership organization and community of Parents, People with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (IDD), Diocesan Leaders, Religous Education and Special Needs Educators, Classroom Educators, Parish Ministers, University Professionals, and supporters of NAfIM's Mission and Vision. Members are concerned with the spiritual and social formation of people with mental retardation, autism, intellectual, cognitive and developmental disabilities and related disabilities.
The Apostolate is supported through annual dues paid by the members and the generosity of our friends and benefactors. The Knights of Columbus have been generous in their annual suuport. Members receive our newsletter and other publications including the soon to be online e-journal. Members attend the annual meeting held in the summertime.
In the past an annual conference was held in various locations througout the United States. With rising costs, this conference occurs when a group of members is able to host the conference. Conferences are open to the public as well as to members and people with IDD. The membership meeting is held in conjection with the conference. Our meetings and conferences are spirited affairs giving members and participants a chance to meet new friends, renew old acquaintances, discuss pertinent issues and receive spiritual refreshment. When there is no conference, a workshop for members is held in conjunction with the summer board meeting.
